FNI Office & Workshop

The FNI Head Office, designed by Ar. Heru Mudito Prasetyo, is a prime example of integrating modern office design with innovative architectural solutions. As the winner of the 2024 Steel Architecture Award in the Industrial category, this building showcases aesthetics combined with functionality. Located in a densely populated urban area prone to flooding, the FNI Head Office stands as a resilient design capable of overcoming environmental challenges. Introducing the FNI Modern Office Project The FNI Head Office project faced significant challenges, including its flood-prone location. Additionally, three primary issues required attention: optimal natural lighting, effective ventilation, and minimal maintenance. To address these, architect Ar. Heru Mudito Prasetyo employed a sustainability-focused, efficient, and resilient approach. To mitigate flooding, the FNI Head Office was designed with strategic elevation. The office and factory areas are positioned half a level above the street, while service and parking areas remain at their original height. Characteristics of the FNI Head Office The FNI Office embodies efficiency and modernity in its design. One of its standout features is the incorporation of natural ventilation. Gills-shaped walls are installed on both sides of the building, enabling optimal air circulation without requiring additional space. In terms of lighting, the design maximizes natural light to reduce energy consumption. A combination of glass and façade materials ensures thermal comfort while maintaining the intensity of incoming light.
